11-06-09  DDT: Bryan Grieve and David Gill TWO directors of the Dunblane Development Trust say the organisation has made mistakes over its relationship with the developers behind proposals for 550 homes at Kippendavie. Trudy Whyle and Alan Booth have already resigned as directors from the Trust after learning that the consortium claimed to have the backing of the DDT.

 ANGER: Residents have had enough CAUSEWAYHEAD community council chair Archie Cowan has called on affected residents not to lose their focus over the campaign to stop freight trains running at night despite the possibility of receiving compensation. Last week Holyrood transport minister Stuart Stevenson admitted compensation may be payable to residents along the line whose property has been devalued under the Land Compensation (Scotland) Act 1973.

 SHUT: Freak weather shuts High School TORRENTS of water, streaming through the roof of Dunblane High School, forced teachers to send kids home as a freak storm hit the city on Monday. Pupils were sent home just after lunch and staff could be seen emptying buckets of water out the front entrance all afternoon.

 MEMORIES: War vets lay wreathes PEOPLE of Bridge of Allan bowed their heads in remembrance of those who have died in battle at a ceremony to rededicate the war memorial in Pullar Park last weekend. Over 300 people turned out to pay their respects and new names from more recent conflicts were added to the memorial.

14-05-09  BIN IT: New bins for Wallace High A NEW litter bin scheme has been launched between Stirling Council, Wallace High School and the local community as they continue the fight against litter in Causewayhead.As part of the council's 'Cleaner Routes to School' campaign 32 new bins will line the route to the secondary school. The need for the new bins was identified in a litter survey carried out by the school's ECO group to ensure that residents and visitors to Causewayhead experience a clean and safe environment. 14-05-09  SHUT: One lane will close over summer THERE has been mixed reaction from Causewayhead’s guesthouse proprietors to the news a lane of the Causewayhead Road Bridge is to close for seven weeks over the summer. Stirling Council is to carry out the necessary repair work during the summer school holidays, starting on June 28.
