New kit pays tribute to ‘Pingu’ Print E-mail
Image DUNBLANE Thistle, the local amateur football team, have agreed a sponsorship deal with John Hill Butchers to help pay for their strips.

They play in the Stirling and District Amateur League and their new strips pay tribute to one of their youngest players who tragically died earlier this year.

Robbie McFarlane, nicknamed ‘Pingu’, passed away aged 19 in March. The club have placed a small saltire on the strips that says ‘Pingu 03/09/88 - 31/03/09’ across the front.

The club won the Stirling and District First Division League Cup last season and are hoping to start off this season in a similarly successful manner.
